Advice:

  • Focus on Question 1 as this is the Big Question.

  • There is a text excerpt only for volume so keeping reading Q.1 to see what they are going to ask you.

  • Follow the tape right through Q.1, Q.2, Q.3, Q. 4 until Irish Music Q.5.

  • You will get 12 marks to do your essay. take your time and pick out bullet points. Try to use at least one quote.

  • Q.6 Aural Skills- again keep in line with the tape. It will take one and a half hours.

You will have 15 minutes free after to listening paper to preparing for Composing.

Composing

  • Use this time to look over your keys.

  • Have a pencil and a rubber ready.

  • 2 Questions must be answered. One composing and one harmony.

  • Take your time in picking your quesions.

  • Spend 25 minutes composing

  • Spend 55 minutes on harmony.

  • The remaining 10 minutes could be used to double check values of notes and layout of work.

It is your last exam for most students and there may be a danger to rush.

Take the full amount of time: it may cost you a grade in results if you rush.
