
Exam Length- one and a half hours
Listening Paper-
Advice:
- When you get the paper take 5 minutes to look over it.
- Focus on Question 1 as this is the Big Question.
- There is a text excerpt only for volume so keeping reading Q.1 to see what they are going to ask you.
- Follow the tape right through Q.1, Q.2, Q.3, Q. 4 until Irish Music Q.5.
- You will get 12 marks to do your essay. take your time and pick out bullet points. Try to use at least one quote.
- Q.6 Aural Skills- again keep in line with the tape. It will take one and a half hours.
You will have 15 minutes free after to listening paper to preparing for Composing.
Composing
- Use this time to look over your keys.
- Have a pencil and a rubber ready.
- 2 Questions must be answered. One composing and one harmony.
- Take your time in picking your quesions.
- Spend 25 minutes composing
- Spend 55 minutes on harmony.
- The remaining 10 minutes could be used to double check values of notes and layout of work.
It is your last exam for most students and there may be a danger to rush.
Take the full amount of time: it may cost you a grade in results if you rush.
